The Semester in Photos (Studio Edition)

I would like to apologize to all my avid followers (mom), for the long delay in posting new images of what I'm working on. So here's an update. I started off the semester with some experimentation. The triptych below was the first thing that I made after my MA show, and it went into our third year review show at the beginning of the semester.

After getting feedback on that piece in a couple of critiques, I started investigating these little smush slats further. I've been drawing inspiration from lath and plaster wall construction lately, trying to bring "the home" into my work in a non-furniture related way.

This is an example of lath and plaster wall construction, for those who don't know what that is.

And some of my smaller experiments...

Then I moved into the third dimension and made a cube.

While doing these experiments I was still thinking about and working with found furniture. This trio of chairs is the second iteration of the chair combos I started back in the spring. This piece is called "Two's Company."

And below is a drawing of a piece that is currently being built. It combines the lath and plaster smush of the earlier experiments with the found furniture that I've been working with over the last year.

And here are some images of it in progress...
